Here’s my weekly dose of T.O.T

1. I wish my Pampered Chef business would pick up a bit. I had two parties booked for this weekend and they are both being rescheduled. Many people have said they want to have a party but want to wait for things to “settle down”
2. Going to join the gym tomorrow! Pretty excited about it and it’s right across the street pretty much from work so little room for excuses not to go
3. Tomorrow is Miss Lucy’s birthday..5? really??? where does the time go?
4. I wish there were more hours in the day and days in the week. There are so many people I wish I could see more often, but life is crazy and busy
5. 144 days until Disney!!!!
6. Registered for our Annual Juvenile Diabetes walk yesterday. Time to start fund raising :)
7. We went to the Big Apple circus this past Saturday. It was AMAZING! If you ever have a chance to go, I highly recommend it.
8. After the circus we walked around Faneuil Hall for a bit. I think we need to do that more often. It’s nice to take the sights in
9. I certainly hope this weather starts to improve real soon. I want to wear flip flops without my piggies being cold!
10. On that note, I seriously need a pedicure! I usually give myself pedicures and manicures at home but it would be nice to have it done for me for a change.

Have a great week everyone!

It’s that time again

1. I have a new baby cousin who is super precious. I held her last night and just wanted to cry with all the joy I was feeling. Jade is like a little sister to me so to hold her new baby girl was so special for me
2. Today is one of my best friend, Joe Quarterone’s birthday. Happy Birthday Joe! Love ya!!
3. Last week our company moved from Bridgewater to Taunton. I did not count any points what so ever. I was nervous about being weighed in after skipping a week and pretty much being on strike for a week…to my surprise, I lost 2.6 pounds. I have a lost a total of 17.8 pounds and got my 10% keychain for losing 10% of my weight!!! What a great weigh in!
4. I had the most perfect weather for my weekend down the cape. Evan and I fed the trout at the hatchery and then hung out on the beach. Later Wally & Mary joined us for a sleepover.
5. Only 150 days until Disney and so far so good keeping it a secret from Evan. I can’t wait to see his face when we pull up in the limo to pick him up
6. I got my Adele CD for Mother’s day. I absolutely love it! I have been listening to it ever since.
7. Christina Perri’s CD came out today. I need to get my hands on that one!
8. Tonight was the first night in a long time that I came home and didn’t have to rush back out somewhere. It was rather nice.
9. I got some much needed cleaning done while being home tonight. Still have more to do, but I made a dent which feels good
10. Another fun filled weekend is approaching. Karate, Big Apple Circus, Fundraiser dinner for the Youth Ministry Camp, Church, Bridal Shower, and then Youth Group for Evan

I have such a blessed life surrounded by so many wonderful people

I love you all

Until next time….

Evan asked me the other day what I would like for Mother’s Day. I seriously drew a blank. I think partly because, he doesn’t need to buy me anything for mother’s day. A nice homemade card would do, doing some chores around the house without be asked. It did, however, start me thinking of things I would like to have for myself. So for my T.O.T., here are ten things on my wish list so to speak

1. Twisted Cape Cod earrings to go with my ring and bracelet…rumor has it they have been discontinued :(
2. A day at a Spa… never had a facial or anything more than a mani / pedi
3. Photography lessons. I have a lot of settings on my camera and I sometimes miss out on the shot because I am trying to find the right setting to put my camera on
4. Adele’s new CD – I love this woman’s voice and the stories behind her songs I can sooo relate to
5. Christina Perri’s CD – This one hasn’t been released yet, I believe it comes out next Tuesday but her voice is very soothing.
6. A gym membership. Over vacation I went to the gym with my friend Erin and really enjoyed it. I would like to go on a regular basis. It’s easy to say “I’ll do it at home”, but having the self discipline to actually do it, is a whole other story
7. Clean sweep. I have so much stuff in my room that it takes no time at all for piles to form, even when I am hardly ever home. I try to review my mail downstairs so that if its junk, I can immediately throw it out, but there are those days that I just grab it from the counter and make my way upstairs to unwind and relax. Again the whole self discipline theory needs to be applied here. If I just did a little bit every night, it would be done in no time.
8. A decent pair of sunglasses. I have a bit of a fetish for sunglasses but I always buy the cheapies at Wal-Mart, because…well…I’m cheap.
9. I had said in the past that I didn’t want a Pandora bracelet and didn’t see what all the hype was about, however, they are starting to grow on me and I really wouldn’t mind having one and start adding some of the cute charms I have seen.
10. A weekend where I didn’t have to do anything or go anywhere that I didn’t want to do. My weekends are always so crazy and busy. Most of the time I don’t mind. I love seeing my friends and family at parties and gatherings, but sometimes I just wish I could just lay on a blanket in somewhere and read a book or listen to my ipod

Blue Belt

Posted April 30th, 2011 by Stacie

Evan graduated to his blue belt today! So proud of him! This months form was Yul-Gok, and the self defense was Choke From behind. He is doing so well, he just needs to remember to practice his mental karate as well as the physical (i.e., self control and self discipline). Here are some pics from today

T.O.T. 4-26-11

Posted April 26th, 2011 by Stacie

Trying to keep up with blog…don’t like being labeled as a slacker. lol

Sadly vacation has ended and it’s back to work..here is my T.O.T!

1. Had a WONDERFUL vacation with my #1 boy!

2. Really need to get some Pampered Chef bookings going on, or find another way to make some extra $$.

3. Looking forward to my weekend at the cottage. More quality time with my lil guy :)

4. Happy to be attending church regularly again. It really makes me feel good and I’m glad that Evan seems to be enjoying youth Group

5. On the subject of youth group, Evan may be attending a youth ministry camp at the end of July. It is for a week and it’s in Philadelphia. As of right now he wants to go and I hope that he sticks with that decision. I think it will be a great experience for him…even if Mommy goes stir crazy while her baby is hundreds of miles away for a WHOLE week

6. The fast rising gas prices are really making me nervous. My car is pretty good on gas but I drive everywhere. Rumor has it that the prices could reach up to $6 by summer. Prices are going up on everything, somehow our paychecks stay the same…how fair is that?

7. I love having my brother around all the time!. I’m glad for him that he found a place, but sad that he will be leaving the house. It’s only a town away though, so that’s a plus!

8. I can NOT believe that my baby will be starting middle school next year. I don’t agree with putting 6th grade in with the 7th & 8th graders, but there isn’t much I can do about that. I feel that they still need that extra year of maturing before mingling with the older kids.

9. It has been almost 15 months since I quit smoking. Can you believe that? I can’t! I still get the urge here and there, but I fight. It is so not worth it.

10. I am down a total of 12.8 pounds since joining Weight Watchers in February. I am so proud of myself for sticking with it. I am seeing results and it feels GREAT!!! I just may be wearing that bikini this summer after all :)

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!!

Catch up…April 2011

Posted April 23rd, 2011 by Stacie

It’s been quite a busy month, lots of “Adventures With Stacie”

The month started off, on April 1st, with one of closest friends getting married. Congrats to Melissa and Shawn McGuiness.

Followed by the usual saturday morning Karate and a comical rendition of The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee, starring Miss Brittany Rose Chalmers, who did a fabulous job at spelling the word Cow. LOL. Given the heavy heart she had during this play with Gram passing away. She held her head up and shined through like the star she is! Very proud of her, and her classmates who dedicated the performance I was at to Gram and the family. So touching!

We have had a great vacation so far. Roller skating, bowling, Aquarium and mini golf with Evan’s father. I am happy ro report that Fred has stepped up and has been pretty involved in Evan’s life. He has been calling at night to say goodnight and to see how Evan’s day went. A couple of weeks ago, we all went to the playgorund and out for ice cream. It was good day. He has also attended Parent Teacher conferences with me. You can see the happiness on Evan’s face to have his father around. That makes me happy.

A couple months back I joined Weight Watchers and I have been pretty happy with the results. I have lost a total of 12.8 pounds. I haven’t taken any measurements, but judging by my pants falling off, I’d say I’ve lost some inches. I have a few more pounds to lose to get to my goal weight. Went to the gym this week with my friend Erin, who kicked my butt! Combine that with the Roller Skating and walking up and down the millions of stairs at the T stations, I think I should have a pretty good weight in Tuesday (fingers crossed)

Sad that vacation is coming to an end, I really enjoy being home with Evan and doing fun stuff. Must return to work though and bring home the bacon..mmmm bacon…oh sorry, I was a little distracted. lol

Easter bunny comes tomorrow, which also means lots of yummy food to eat. I will have to pace myself and not go over board, so that I will indeed have a good weigh in on Tuesday.

Wishing everyone a Happy and Healthy Easter holiday. See you soon

xoxo

Slacker

Posted April 23rd, 2011 by Stacie

Recently it was brought to my attention that I have been slacking on my blog. I didn’t think it had been that long…now looking it has been almost a month since my last post. I shamefully accept the slacker title.
Now to get caught up!

Wondering Wednesday

Posted March 30th, 2011 by Stacie

Driving to work this morning I saw a middle school student walking to the bus stop with shorts and no jacket. Now I know that according to the calendar it’s spring but mother nature has not caught up to the calendar just yet. It started me thinking. When did parents become so lenient? If I tried to wear shorts in 30 degree weather never mind try to walk outside without a jacket, my mom would have snatched me up and made me change. Why are some parents so afraid to discipline their children these days? If more parents were stern like ours were, we wouldn’t have some of the issue we see in society. Babies having babies…,and promoting it on national television????? I don’t beat my child by any means, but I see nothing wrong with a spanking on his bottom when deserved. Manners have gone down the drain! My son isn’t the most polite child you’ll ever meet, but he also isn’t disrespectful. He has his moments of talking back but mostly to me, which doesn’t make it ok, but I would rather him be fresh to me inside the home, then be disrespectful to someone outside our home.
When I was a kid I would ride my bike up and down Warren Ave, down to the park and be gone sometimes all day long..no cell phones, just the occasional check in with mom. Why are we so afraid to give our children this same freedom? I just let Evan ride his bike around the corner for the first time last weekend. We live in a pretty decent neighborhood so why am I afraid to let him go. Times have changed so much and it makes me wonder why and when???
